Step into the shoes (or paws) of legendary heroes like Sadie Cat and take on a trio of terrifying monsters in this brain-busting, dice-rolling adventure! Armed with your trusty dice and a pocket full of Brain Tokens, you'll need to outsmart, out-roll, and out-math your monstrous foes. Use cunning calculations and clever combos to match the Monster’s Heart value and emerge victorious.

HOW TO PLAY

Flip Over the Monster

Flip over the top card from the Monster deck. Note the Heart value on the Monster card. This is your goal. Now it is time to begin the Battle Phase.

Battle Phase

Roll all of the dice that match your Hero card once. You must use the values on all of your dice. You may use any arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to modify the values on the dice to exactly equal the Heart value on the Monster. Example: You roll a 3, 5, 8, and 9. The Monster’s heart is 16. You do 9 - 8, which gives you 1. Then you do 3 x 5, which gives you 15. Then you add the 1 to the 15 to get 16. Success!

I'm a sucker for a fun and simple math game, so I picked this up, printed it out, cut-and-sleeved the cards, and gave it a go!

It's quick to assemble (just a few sheets of cards to cut out and sleeve), it's super easy to learn, and it provides a quick little brain teaser.

Despite the characters "digging their own graves" in the comic, this doesn't require any deeper math than just simple arithmetic. It would be especially good for playing with kids who need some arithmetic practice (or who just need to feel like math is fun!), but it's also a quick little game adults can play to do some quick number theory puzzles.

Well worth a few bucks and the time it took to put it together! A charming presentation of a fun little brain-twiddling activity.

Thanks for making it, Shenbot Makes!

Thank you so much for the review! Thank you for playing!
